Lentil Soup

this is a very easy cheap lentil soup recipe.
500 g red lentils(dried)
800 g chopped tomataoes(tinned)
Olive oil (a dash)(optional)
Madras or bombay currypowder

Boil l for a few minutes, the simmer (adding water if neccessary and stirring frequently) until lentils become soft and mushy.
Be careful not to let the lentils stick and burn.
Add tinned tomatoes and simmer until mix thickens.
Add curry powder to taste and, optionally, a small dash of olve oil.
Simmer for a further 15 minutes.

serve with rice or rice noodles and pappads, or naan bread, or chapatis.
